de·vel·op·ment n.
Determination of the best techniques for
applying a new device or process to
production of goods or services.
Normally, web development (or applications)
are designed on top of a web site. A
web application handles the back end of a
site or online business. A normal web
page will just show text, and web
application will generate a web page based
on the user input.
You see this most in online stores,
personals sites, e-mail lists, sweepstakes,
location finders, newsletters, etc.
Here's an example.
Input: Find all locations
of Starbucks within a 5 mile radius of
75093.
Backend: Views a list of
longitude and latitudes of zip codes,
matches them up. Runs them through
a formula to check distance, then adds
them to the list you see on the output.
Output: List of Starbucks
within 5 miles.

Pricing can be difficult, because we have a
large library of applications we've designed
in the past. On custom applications
that are not in our libraries we charge
hourly or by contract.
